As we have repeatedly repeated, the very opening of the Good News which again in Hebrew is very related to the Hebrew word “flesh”, shows Yeshua’s connectedness with David Mt. 1:1, v. 5.
In short again the RCS shows Yeshua “connected with” not “separated from” David – or the People of them both. This is seen again in the beginning Mt. 1, the end Rev. 5:5 and 22:16, and in the “middle”, chronologically Rom. 1:3, cf. 9:4-5, 2 Tim. 2:8. Cf. also Yochanon 4:22 where Yeshua identifies himself as in Yochanon’s Hebraic KG (partitive genitive; Daniel Wallace’s “Greek Grammar Beyond The Basics” Zondervan, a major evangelical publisher) “that the salvation out from within the Jews is” (KG “oti n soteria ek twn Ioudaiwn estin”).
Nowhere – nowhere – nowhere – does Yeshua state that the source through whom salvation comes, is being “pulled” from “the Jews” and handed over instead to post-Biblical Gentile leadership – which “also replaces the Jewish brothers”.
For those who might think “yes, but Yeshua is “only” identified with David and the Jews “ethnically”, Mt. 1:1 – the very opening of the Good News – shows us otherwise!
As we have pointed out, even in simple English one with “eyes to see” can see that Mt. 1 is no mere “genealogical record”. As important as that was to 1st century Jews, Mt. 1:1 does not open with Yeshua son of Abraham, son of David.
Rather, it opens “son of David” – even though genealogically Abraham is before David. The “key” then? Clearly Matthew shows us a special spiritual connectedness of David and Yeshua.
Does not Yeshua draw from the Ruach Hakodesh inspired Hebrew “Shine Forth” “Songs of Praise” Psalms of David, most especially Ps. 110 cited (v. 1 seven times v. 4 once) in the Gospel 8 times?
The Jewish author of Hebrews cites Ps. 110:1 six times.
“8” as we have explained, in Hebrew is symbolic of in part “one beyond spiritual completion (7)”. “6” in Hebrew is symbolic of physical perfection as we have explained elsewhere in more detail.
Yeshua draws totally on what is not to him the “OT” but the Hebrew Scriptures, more specifically in Lk. 24:44 – after his Resurrection – from the Jewish order of the Hebrew Bible. That is the Torah, the Prophets, and the Writings, Lk. 24:44, which include the Psalms.
Our KG Translators Edition Index of Quotations lists 9 non-canonical (Pseudepigrapha) Jewish books cited in the Gospel. It lists zero pre or post-Biblical Gentile sources cited by Yeshua.
Does Yeshua draw from Augustine’s “City of God” in speaking about Jerusalem? Does he draw from “”Summa Theologie” in explaining himself? Does he draw from Anselm’s popularly known as “Ten Proofs For The Existence Of God” to have to “prove” to his fellow Jews – of all people (!) – “God exists”?
Did Yeshua draw from Calvin’s magnum opus “The Institutes Of The Christian Religion”? Did Yeshua draw from Martin Luther’s “Treatise On Christian Liberty” in explaining the Torah?
Why then, get weighted down with a heavy yoke of the Traditions of Men (cf. Mk. 7:5-13) that “make the Word of God of no effect”, in your “mind”, when you can have the “light yoke” of Yeshua and the Hebrew heart of David – Yeshua’s father Lk. 1:32.
(Luke’s KG rendering of an Hebraic original “ton thronon David tou patros autou” “very specifically the throne (of) David, absolutely of the father of him”. We rendered Luke’s articular genitive “tou patros” “of the father” from the genitive use of “absolute”. It may also or could have been this KG form as “possession of”.
That is, a sense of “possession” either David “of” Yeshua or vice versa.
To sort it out precisely technically here takes us a bit too far afield).
What does this have to do with Ps. 17 and the 36 Psalms for one who is ill?
In short for here, on the Mt. of Transfiguration in northern Israel Lk. 9:28-36 who witnesses this as we have explained this in greater depth in our forthcoming “The Hebrew Resurrection of Yeshua” and what Peter says in 2 Pet. 1:16?
Are Calvin or Luther – or the founder of a very popular Spirit based movement – or 3 Jewish brothers there? Who exactly is Yeshua seen with in Luke’s KG “gathered together in fellowship” (“sun” prefix) speaking with”? Is it Calvin and Luther? The Board of Directors of the Southern Baptists and the Assemblies of God?
If it is two of the greats of the Hebrew Bible, Moshe and Elijah, that the Father sends to speak with Yeshua, why are not their words “good enough” to learn from?
Why does one instead, have to be burdened with being “yoked” to the post-Biblical “theological statements” that weigh down your mind, instead of the Hebrew of the Psalms that can free your heart and soul?
A “heart like David”, that appreciates and recognizes that the Ruach Hakodesh inspired the composers of the Psalms to do so in Hebrew, their language, not a “mystical tongue” that no one could interpret cf. 1 Cor. 14:26-30 vss. v. 28 (!!), will help draw one closer to the LORD and to Yeshua.
A “heart like David” rather than a “Greek-Latin mind” is closer to, the heart of David’s son Yeshua. It thus honors Yeshua and thus honors the Father as Yeshua illuminates in Yochanon 5:23.
Our concern is not merely about being “right” nor is it “that Hebrew-Jewish stuff” as too many in the West – but not the East – see it. Our concern again is, “is a heart, even unaware, that has been made antagonistic or numb or “does not matter” regarding how, through whom, and where, the Father reveals himself, facilitates “(a) time of desired favor for prayer” as David writes in the Messianic Psalm Ps.69:14 (H).
Positively, imagine a head not weighted down wondering if its “positions” are “correct” or whether or how one does or does not “speak in” but rather a “heart like David” free to seek and find the only solution for a troubled heart, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, through the Son Yeshua.
In short, to accomplish this one should honestly examine their heart to see where one’s loyalties and obligation are.
Is it to “a” certain so-called “only inspired translation” – done by, the Traditions of Men who “converted” Jacob, Miriam, and Judah, to “James”, “Mary” and “Jude” as we have explained in detail elsewhere?
Is it to a certain “denomination” or “Building”; is it “loyalty to an organization”, over “love of my brother” – especially my Jewish brother?
Am I uncomfortable with the reality of “JC” being Yeshua Hamashiach? Why? Is it helpful regardless of how one may refer to Yeshua (cf. Acts 26:14-15)?
Do I have David and Yeshua’s heart, when it comes to the Jewish People? When it comes to my Jewish brethren? When it comes to Jerusalem? If I answer “yes” is it, in Hebrew “substance” or is it – being honest – “external and superficial”?
Is there any action in some way on my part to this, or is it just in the head?
If I see and appreciate the Torah and Hebrew Scriptures very positively as that rather than “Law” and “OT”, if I “hear it” as David and Yeshua did, might it not help my prayer for “loosening-healing”?
Do I see myself in the LORD, as Augustine-Luther, or as David saw himself?
Do I have a “Hebrew heart” in the sense of the LORD’s universal “Big Picture” for the totality of His creation, as well as the “concrete specifics” of each individual creature, seen as, “part of the whole”?
Do I recognize that this is the heart of Yeshua? That Yeshua emphasizes “the Kingdom” not a Gentile dominated “Church”/”church” organization, rather than our “organic relationship” cf. Yochanon 17:20-23, cf. Eph. 2:19-22. Cf. 1 Cor. 12:12-27. Cf. Yochanon 13:34-35.
Am I focused on Self? Are past problems, difficulties, abuses, criticisms, negativity “constraining” me from being free from Self to have “no Self” as Yeshua cf. Mk. 10:45 from Ish. 53:12, Phpn. 2:5-11?
In other words, can I see the World and the Other as God sees them; not as “lost objects” but as his Creation, potential subjects of His Kingdom – again 111 references to the Kingdom in the Gospel and a Hebrew Scripture-Jewish concrete reality?
Can I focus on the “Big Picture” need of the “loosening-healing” of the Body of Mashiach cf. Mt. 5:22-25, 1 Cor. 12:12-27, 2 Cor. 5:14-27, Phpn. 2:2-3, etc. as the priority, along with the needs of the Other, but my “Self”, last? Am I aware that Yeshua was the literal embodiment of no Self?
What does learning that the RCS KG text actually emphasizes “we” rather than, “me” mean to me? How does it impact how I walk in the LORD with the Lord?
What does it mean that when Yeshua goes to find the one lost of a 100 sheep, he does not free the sheep to “do its own thing its own way” but rather, returns it with the rest of the flock? Cf. Yochanon 10:16, cf. Lk 15:3-7.
Do I “recognize and react accordingly” that the whole reality of the LORD as Shepherd (Ps. 23), as Yeshua as the, in the original “good – well-being” shepherd Yochanon 10, goes back to the Patriarch Jacob (Gen. 48:15-16), that Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moshe and David, were shepherds – not “theologians”.
They were concerned not with a theological “position” “about” an abstract concept, but rather with concrete, living, creatures.
Can I thus have a heart of David, a heart of Yeshua, and see myself – and others – as “Sheep” rather than “goats” (not a thing to be though Prov. 27:26-27 speaks positively of one’s goats, Yeshua will separate out the “goats” of the Nations Mt. 25:31-33, from the “sheep”).
Lastly, a Hebrew heart recognizes that the Bible tends to use Hebrew based physical metaphors to illuminate great spiritual truth – shepherd, sheep, tree, rocks, house, oil, children, et al. – rather than Greek based “abstract concepts”.
Lest we forget, what is the heart after all? Is it not a most vital “real, concrete organ” without which we cannot live?
Imagine the “possibilities and potential” including that for facilitating a time of desire favor for prayer, for the heart that loves the Hebrew Bible, the Jew, the Jewish brothers, and Jerusalem!
How might it facilitate “loosening-healing”…
