Praying More Like Yeshua Did And A Traditional Hebrew Scripture Based Prayer For A Whole Loosening-Healing – Introduction

It is extremely “key” to keep in mind “what was the language the Jewish Mashiach (drawn from, separated out from, anointed “Messiah”) prayed to the Father in?”

Obviously this would be Hebrew! In the same way Yeshua read from the Prophet Yeshayahu (“He (the) LORD, saves, delivers, grants vigorous existence”) “Isaiah”, in Hebrew when announcing his ministry in his home synagogue of Natzeret (“Nazareth”) Lk. 4:16. Cf. Acts 26:14-15 also!

As we have opened up in our teaching, one should have a “Hebrew heart” rather than a “Greek/Western mind” when it comes to the LORD, to Yeshua, to the Ruach Hakodesh, and to the Bible.

This however does not require the knowledge of even a single Hebrew letter!

Rather in part it means as follows.

 

  • Have a universal “Big Picture” approach – a focus on the universal Big Picture and “we” rather than “me”.

 

  • See the LORD and the Mashiach Yeshua in terms of being concrete rather than about concepts.

 

  • The Name LORD and the Names for Yeshua and the Ruach Hakodesh in their original Hebrew, are all derived from verbs. That means they are active, as in action, and act.

 

  • As we explain in our teaching Hebrew is wholeness, totality, and connectedness oriented; not separation and compartmentalized rooted, as Greek.

Heal in Hebrew literally means loosening-healing. Prayer for healing should be not for say just a specific illness or injured or broken body part. Rather, for a whole loosening-healing of the spirit and the life-person-personal being and the body. Cf. 1 Thess. 5:23 where Paul hopes the Thessalonians will be found by God to be “wholly complete/having reached the goal” (KG “oloteleis”) and – in connectedness – “wholly sound”) (KG “olokleron”).

 

    Significantly both KG words begin with the prefix olo “whole”. This is entirely Hebraic thought-based by Paul! (Cf. Acts 22:1-3, 23:6, 28:17 et al.)

  • In short a “key” is that the “Hebrew heart” prays not just for say the loosening healing of a part of the body; but rather, for the whole of the spirit, life-person, personal being (technically, not the soul), and bodyas a whole.

 

  • Key – remember what our wonderful Mashiach put forth as firstly/first importance, in the original.

 

In short, as we explain in our teaching, that any broken horizontal relationships – between man and his brother – need to be “dialogued” i.e. reconciled firstly, that is, of first importance, before drawing near to the LORD! Mt. 5:21-24.

 

  • As much as we or a loved one may need a whole loosening-healing, does not the Father desire His children be one? Cf. Yeshua’s Hebraic “extend the hands and ask” form of prayer Yochanon 17:20-23!

 

  • As we have pointed out, remember to include as many people as you know who need a whole loosening-healing.

 

  • The first traditional Hebrew prayer rendered we adapted to be more universal, the second particularly for individuals in special need of a whole loosening-healing.

 

  • Prayer in Hebrew always begins with praise to the LORD! By this we acknowledge and praise His Greatness and Majestic Majesty, and that He is Creator and Sustainer of the Heavens and the Earth!

At the end, as Yeshua instructed, we present our prayer in the name of Yeshua Hamashiach.

 

  • We would strongly encourage that prayer end in the name of Yeshua Hamashiach. Why? It means we affirm that that is who he actually “be”. Cf. Acts 26:14-15. Cf. Dt. 17:14-16, v. 15.

 

  • While prayer can be offered in the name of “JC”, our concern is this. That one who is hesitant or refused to offer their prayer in Yeshua’s real name, may possibly hinder their prayer.

The “key” question is if one is hesitant or refuses to do so, does it indicate an unhealthy heart attitude? What does it say if we ask the LORD for help; but are hesitant or even refuse to acknowledge that He sent His Son though and as part of the whole of the Jewish People? Cf. Mt. 1, Lk 1:30-34, Yochanon 4:22, Rev. 5:5, 22:16 et al. Cf. also Rom. 1:3, 2 Tim. 2:8, etc.

 

  • Remember, prayer is never a substitute for medical help.

The “Hebrew heart” sees that the LORD also works through those He has given medical ability to. The LORD works through medicine, surgeries, etc., that He provides the raw materials for or enables healers to be able to heal. Cf. 1 Cor. 12:9 “Xarismata iamatwv (“iamaton”)” which is actually “gifts of means of healing”. In Jacob 5:12-20 vss. 13-17, the KG actually indicates that medicine first be utilized; then prayer.

 

  • Lest we forget; what language do you think Eliyahu (“Elijah”, cf. 1 Ki. 17:1, 18:1, Jacob 5:17) and the Jewish Sent Ones of Yeshua, prayed in? “English”? Latin? Greek? Or, Hebrew? No doubt the prayers of the original brothers in Jerusalem that we read about in Acts, was in Hebrew! Cf. Acts 1:14, 2:42, v. 46, 3:2, 10:9, 24:17-18.

As a quick but “key” note; Luke’s KG in Acts 2:42 refers to specific prayer not prayer in general. Thus based on Luke’s deliberate use of “the” prayers (articular dative refers specifically “to what” i.e., “the prayers”), we posit the following.

That the Jewish brethren prayed – in Hebrew – the traditional Jewish prayers at that time!

 

  • The “key”? As Jews they prayed with a “Hebrew heart” as followers of Yeshua!

 

  • Again the “key” is not that one know even a letter of Hebrew. Rather, that they have a “Hebrew heart” approach and affirm and honor that Hebrew was the prayer language of the greats of the Bible from Abraham on (Gen. 20:7) to the Jewish brothers called and sent by Yeshua, including later, Paul Acts 21:20-26, 22:1-3, 23:6, 24:17-18, Gal. 2:15, 2 Cor. 11:22, Phpn. 3:5.

 

  • A Gentile follower of Yeshua should also remember; it is not – not – not of the Nations that you receive your spiritual richness and nourishment. Your ingrafting is a “participating with them” in common, deep partnership, sharing of the richness of the fatness of the olive root”, i.e., the Jewish People Rom. 11:17-24. Cf. also 2:19, in the context of Eph. 2:11-22.

 

  • Paul’s wording in Rom. 11:17 is addressed – significantly – to each individual Gentile and speaks of their being a “participant with others” i.e., with the natural branches, the Jewish People, of the root, the Jewish People.

Paul’s string of “of the” “of the richness of the fatness of the olive root” Rom. 11:18 (articular genitive; used here we believe to indicate “absolute” as well as source) is in fact totally Hebraic exposition, expressed in KG for KG speakers in Rome.

 

  • In short: the “key” is that it is not through the Nations – or the ways of the Nations – that Yeshua’s followers receive their spiritual nourishment, but rather, through the olive root of the Jewish People!

 

  • As a quick but “key” note: Paul’s use of a physical metaphor – the olive root – to illuminate great spiritual truth, is totally Hebraic, and very Pharisee-based as well; cf. Acts 23:6.

We should note: Yeshua uses physical metaphors to illuminate great spiritual truth, rather than concepts.

 

  • Thus; if you or a loved one need a whole loosening-healing, are you looking for it in terms of a “concept” of being healed, or are you seeking the LORD for a concretee. real loosening-healing?

If the latter, then you are seeking something rooted in the Hebrew of the Hebrew Bible! You are not looking for healing as a concept but rather as concrete, that is, solid, actual healing.

 

  • The prayer should be said with the Hebrew heart’s firm steadfast trustworthiness that the LORD’s will be done (cf. Mt. 6:10). For more on what “faith” really is about, please see our audio teaching on Steadfastness in the A-Z window, scroll to S for Steadfastness.

 

  • Again, we encourage you to present prayer “in the name of Yeshua Hamashiach”, as explained above.

 

The name Yeshua as we explain in our teaching, comes from a verb “save; grant essence of existence”, and includes the idea of granting vigorous existence cf. Ps. 86:2 Hebrew, cf. Ps. 6:5; cf. Yochanon 10:10 ”superabundance”.

Name in Hebrew speaks of who one is; their “mission, function, purpose”.

 

  • Mashiach Yeshua does not just and did not come only to save. He came to make it possible for us to be granted the essence of existence! That includes granting vigorous existence. David was not looking to just be saved from his numerous enemies – within and without. David was not looking to be saved only from illness, turmoil, and the difficulties he encountered his entire reign as king of Israel.

David sought the LORD for the granting of a vigorous existence, in serving the LORD and serving Israel.

David never sought a loosening-healing only for Self!

     David was Mashiach-like in this regard. His son the Mashiach Yeshua (Lk. 1:32, Rom. 1:3, 2 Tim. 2:8, Rev. 5:5, 22:16, etc.) brought the ideal of no Self to life. He literally embodied it for us, as a model to “be and do” cf. Mk. 8:34 et al.

 

  • May the LORD grant a whole loosening-healing of spirit and life – person – personal being, and body to all who need it. May it be Your Will O LORD as we seek to do Your Will, and may it be for the weightiness of Your Glory! In the name of Yeshua Hamashiach, Meshachenu our Messiah (it be) his name.

 

What you see first is a rendering of the prayer. Rendering is an attempt to try to open up the richer, deeper Hebrew that cannot be translated without losing the Hebrew’s deeper essence.

While the rendering hopefully opens up the deeper Hebrew it may be a bit awkward to use as your actual prayer in English.

     If you do find it awkward to use as your actual prayer then instead use it to help you more deeply understand the original.

I have provided a translation that follows the first form of the prayer.

     Translation unfortunately requires conforming the original in order to “fit” into smooth, clear English.

However I have tried to “put the Hebrew into English” as best I can while having it be easily usable by you as your prayer. If it has not succeeded that falls on me; certainly not the Hebrew!

 

One other “key”. Hebrew has no separate word “mind” nor “intellect”. In the Bible it is about the heart not the mind!

David, who composes almost half the Shine Forth – Songs of Praise (”Psalms”), sings from his heart, not his mind!

 

As we point out in our teaching the KG word kardia heart is used far more than nous mind – 156 to 29!

Nous, mind, is never found on the lips of Yeshua!

In fact our KG concordance lists 56 uses of kardia heart in the Gospel and only one use of nous mind!

 

Even Paul who was de-Hebraicized and de-Judaized by post-Biblical Western Tradition uses heart much more than mind; 56 to 21. This is 2 ½ times more uses of heart by Paul. It reflects Paul’s “Hebrew heart” rather than the “Greek/Western mind” of a “theologian”.

Even in Romans, Paul uses heart more than mind; 10 to 7!

The “key” then in following a deeper, more authentic, closer to the Bible approach to prayer is to be sure to express from your heart during any prayer. (Though without excessive emotion; cf. Mt. 6:7!)

Lastly while acknowledging our total dependence on our wondrous LORD, let us be encouraged as follows. While we may have to “wait” for the LORD to provide a whole loosening-healing and if it is His Will to do so, let us be encouraged to do the following.

 

Peter, under Ruach Hakodesh inspiration, writes this in 2 Pet. 3:11-13. In short, he encourages his hearers to lead lives “…by means of holy conduct – and in connection – piety (i.e., be godly). (KG “ev” (“en”) agiais avastrophais (“anastrophais”. We took “ev” here by what is called “instrumental”, meaning “by means of”).

Anastrophais “conduct” begins with the prefix ava (“ana”) which means up. Thus while our prayers ascend upward to the LORD, as Peter encourages let us endeavor to have our conduct “ascend up” to be more godly and Mashiach-like.

 

Holy in Hebrew, in short, comes from a verb as one of the great Torah teachers astutely points out, “ prepare for task; dedicate all resources”.

Thus armed with this, we dedicate our resources, spiritual and material, to what Peter follows this with in 2 Pet. 3:12.

Peter begins for emphasis in 2 Pet. 3:12 with “Look for and hasten the day of God…”.   Both “look” and “hasten” in KG are in a form that Peter uses to indicate that they are to be a “real, concrete, present tense, continuous process”. (Anarthrous present tense participles; Peter’s form is a “description” of the action).

In 2 Pet. 3:13 it is in KG, renewed/new in quality Heavens and renewed/new in quality Earth that we look forward to. (KG a form of kainos rather than neos. Neos indicates “new” in the sense of “new in time” i.e. “brand new”).

Peter is not expressing that there will be a “brand new” Heaven and “brand new” Earth. Rather, that they will be “renewed/new in quality”!

The “key” is to realize that things will be the way they were always supposed to be, when the day of God comes!

Peter also goes on to say in 2 Pet. 3:13 that righteousness will dwell on the Earth. Does Peter mean righteousness in the sense of what is called “forensic righteousness”, i.e. “legal justification”? No!

Peter’s “Hebrew heart” thinks of the Hebrew meaning of righteousness, which is an attribute exercised by the LORD! Ps. 145:17, etc.

What righteousness more deeply is about, as one of the great Torah teachers points out (correctly!) in Hebrew, is this.

Justice restores things back to how they should have been. Righteousness is the ideal. Righteousness in Hebrew more deeply means that “…the other get what is rightfully due them” and is related to “satisfy” and “to sooth”.

This ideal becomes a concrete reality that dwells on the Earth with the day of God!

Until then, rather than “waiting” for it, and while we await the result of our prayer, let us all be strengthened and encouraged to lead lives of holy conduct and godliness. This will help our looking for and hastening the day of God.

When that happens, and as we say in Hebrew “may it be speedily in our days”, we will no longer need to pray for healing.

Illness, infirmity, disease, and death will be gone (Cf. Rev. 21:3-4). Praise God in the name of Yeshua Hamashiach!

 

Rendering Of The First Traditional Hebrew Based Prayer – Reflecting the Deeper Hebrew Original – For A Translation See Ahead

Bless – acknowledge as the wellspring of all blessing – my life-person-personal being, (the) essence and substance and everything about (the) LORD and in connectedness (the) totality within me, (the) essence and substance and everything about His Holy Name (Ps. 103:1 Hebrew). Protect from harm, like a soft touch of the womb Compassionate and in connectedness Gracious (is the) LORD, slow (to have) anger flare (in His nostrils) and in connectedness, abundance of lovingkindness-mercy, mercy translated into action.

To/for Your benefit LORD (Who is) the positive bearer of existence-actuality greatness and in connectedness the positive bearer of existence-actuality the might and the splendor and the triumph, standing firmly, and the majestic praise for, like (as a) divine model (the) totality in (the) Heavens and on Earth (is Yours!).

To/for Your benefit LORD, the positive bearer of existence activity the Kingdom and the sustaining sovereignty, to (the) totality (over every) head.

And You in Your hands (is the) life-person-personal being of (the) whole totality (of every) life. And the spirit (of the) whole totality (of the) flesh of mankind.

And in Your hands (is the) strength and in connectedness (the) might to/for/benefit to make great and to strengthen and in connectedness to/for/benefit (a) whole loosening-healing (of every) human even to (he who is) crushed.

Until the very depths (of being) crushed of (his/her) life-person-personal being.

And – in fact cannot – be hidden, too wondrous from You as the Source, (the) totality of any word (or) thing.

And in Your hands (is the) life (of the) totality whole of life.

Therefore may it be (the) will-desire from before You the positive bearer of Existence-Actuality the Power God (Who is) the trustworthy trustworthiness Father (of) the soft touch of the womb compassion.

The positive bearer of Existence-Actuality (Who) heals real, concrete, present tense, continuous process, to/for/benefit direction toward (of) all (retarding, weakening) illnesses.

May it be Your Will to do so for Your People Israel, for all those who have come to firm steadfast trustworthiness in Your Son Yeshua through those he personally sent, and for all that you have breathed Your breath of life in.

O our Heavenly Father, may it be Your Will in the name of Yeshua Hamashiach, our Mashiach (Separated out, drawn from, Anointed Messiah).

 

Translation of the First Traditional Hebrew Based Prayer

Bless, acknowledge as the wellspring from Whom all blessing flows, in my being, the essence and substance of everything about the LORD, and all that is within me, and everything about His Holy Name (Ps. 103:1 Hebrew). The LORD protects from harm, is compassionate and gracious and slow to anger. And in connectedness with this, His overflowing abundance of lovingkindness-mercy, mercy translated into action.

To You LORD Who is the positive bearer and actuality of greatness, and in connection, You are the positive bearer of the actuality of the splendor and triumph, standing firmly, and majestic praise, for all in the Heavens and on the Earth is Yours.

To You LORD is the activity of the Kingdom and the sustaining sovereignty over every head.

And in Your Hands is the strength and in connectedness, the might to benefit and make great and to strengthen, in connectedness with this, a whole loosening-healing of every human, even to he who is crushed. Crushed even until the very depths of their being.

And there is nothing hidden, nor too wondrous for You as the Source of all words or things.

And in Your Hands is the whole of life.

Therefore may it be the will and desire from before You, the positive bearer of Power, God Who is a trustworthy Father and compassionate, Who heals in a real, present, and continuous process, to do so to all illnesses that weaken us.

May it be Your Will to do so for Your People Israel, for all those who have come to firm steadfastness in Your Son Yeshua, and for all that you have breathed Your breath of life in.

O our Heavenly Father, may it be Your Will, in the name of Yeshua Hamashiach, our Mashiach (“Messiah”).

Hebrew Scripture Cited in the First Prayer

The following Hebrew Scriptures are cited in the first prayer. LORD willing and with His help when we are able we will include commentary and explanation about each verse.

1 Chron. 29:11 – as a quick note for here, 1 Chron. 29 provides a great model for worshipping the LORD! Israel’s greatest king – and father of our Mashiach Yeshua (Lk. 1:32 etc. etc. cf. Rev. 5:5, 22:16) David, under Ruach Hakodesh inspiration (cf. 2 Saml. 23:1-5 v.2) sets a tremendous example of universal “Big Picture” worship of the LORD, by His People.

This – a universal “Big Picture” worship of Who He Be – is what worship really should be. Rather than, the (often) Western Tradition approach of “what the LORD has done for me”.

Worship of the LORD is just that. Worship of and focused on, Him!
